MILWAUKEE, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center has been named one of the "2009 Top 100 Hospitals to Work For" by Nursing Professionals magazine.
The top 100 list acknowledges hospitals that strive to include nurses at all organizational levels in order to effectively serve patients' best interests.
Mary O'Brien, chief administrative officer for Aurora St. Luke's, was pleased with the recognition.
"Nurses are critical to patient care at the bedside and in the board room," O'Brien says. "At Aurora St. Luke's we understand that they are key to creating a healing environment that is safe, caring and effective."
The magazine surveyed 25,000 randomly selected hospital nurses nationwide to measure their job satisfaction. The survey asked questions such as how strong is the nursing voice within the hospital, does the hospital offer flexible working arrangements and how well the hospital manages personal training and development.
Nursing Professionals is a new magazine for nursing students that focuses on nursing and work/life issues.
